Polygonatum odoratum `Byakko', whitish-yellow, 15-18", June-July. Incredible leaves are 3/4"white from the stem outward and green tipped for the last 1/4"! Like it's white but just can't make it all the way! Slow to set but the reward is more than in the wait! The older stems(3yrs) begin to carry this amazing variegation! A collector's/maniac plant! It grows every year and you tend to see more greener leaves and wonder when the metamorphosis will occur. A full, mature patch(24"wide) that's been established for at least 3years will give the fantastic thrill that you grew it long enough to see the "White Tiger"(translation for `Byakko'). zone5 "Solomon's Seal"
