Hosta `Fire Island', lavender flowers on red scapes, 18-20", August. MEDIUM. Mounds 14"high by 34"wide. Leaves 5.5-6.5"long by 3.75-4.5"wide; bright gold turning green by late summer; ovate-shaped; slightly wavy; slightly corrugated; deep MAROON-RED petioles that hold throughout the season. The contrast of the yellow leaves and red stems makes this one stand out. Finally available, this cross between longipes hypoglauca and 'Crested Surf'.(1998,W.Brinka)
