Hosta `Katsuragawa Beni', pale purple, 12-18", August-September. MEDIUM. Mounds 9"high by 28"wide. Leaves 6 1/4"long by 2 7/8"wide(8-9vp); green leaves with INTENSLEY RED petioles!; red color extends into the blade of the leaf; generally along the midrib; narrowly ovate and slightly rippled along the margin. Good growth rate. Medium substance. Named for the Katsura River in Japan. This we had to get because we were aware of its most popular seedling H.`Miss Ruby' from Wrede whom we are friends with! Once you start with hosta and then start wondering where this or that came from, or "catch wind" that some "guy" you met at a meeting/auction already has been "playing" with one you have, THEN YOU HAVE TO GET IT! You NUT!
