pikei HEVER CASTLE

Buddleia x pikei `Hever Castle', lilac-pink, 50-72", August-November. Arching habit similar to it's parent B. alternifolia. Very fragrant. Blooms have a deep orange throat/eye and are rounded clusters. This tends to be more deciduous and blooms from new growth. A bit of lore/history: Hever Castle was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn who was queen of England in the 1500's and was be-headed by King Henry the 8th. Today! the castle is a tourist and gardeners stop for its sensationally kept display gardens. Sun, well drained soil. I might plant this so it's protected from some winter elements like piercing winds, collection of snow/ice. zone6 "Butterfly Bush"
