Aclepias viridiflora, green!, 12-28", May-July. Easily grown in average, dry to medium moisture, well-drained in full sun. Drought tolerant. Usually upright although sometimes decumbent(laying sideways, NOT floppy!). Alternate, short-stalked, pointed, ovate-lanceolate, pale green leaves. NATIVE to glades, prairies, pastures, fields, and roadsides from Ohio to Nebraska south to Florida and Texas. Commonly found in the Ozarks. Tiny GREEN flowers with purple hoods in umbels. Seed pods are very ornamental in dried flower arrangements if the Monarchs don't eat them 1st!
