Agave americana(8"pan)

Agave Americana, blue-grey leaves, thick, pointed, lightly spined. native to Mexico. This is the agave most often used in tequilas. In its native habitat it can get leaves 3ft long and produce clumps 5ft wide! Although for our purposes, grown on your windowsill, container, trough, it will get 12-18"long leaves and set several off-shoots. If it becomes larger than desired simply pull off the offshoots, or cut out the main plant(that is to big for you). If one of the plants flower it will die after flowering(monocarpic).Keep warm, and sunny, bright light. z8
