HELEN PAYNE(os!RARE)

Sempervivum `Helen Payne', large, dark grey with very strong orchid-purple center to the rosette that makes this cultivar BEYOND striking! A strong grower which means produces chicks readily. This is named in honor of the MATRIARCH of Sempervivums, Helen Payne. She is responsible for introducing many hybrids of Kevin Vaughn when he was just a teenager and was find/hybridizing Sempervivum's. When she saw S.`Jungle Shadows' for the fisrt time she called Kevin and said "We're gonna sell lots of that one, Kevin!". This S.`Helen Payne' is a much improved version of that(S.Jungle Shadows, the parent to S.Helen Payne)that Kevin Vaughn named for her also.
