arendsii GARY

Phlox x arendsii `Gary', pink, 36-42", June-September. A selection of natural hybridum (self-pollinated) with the flower head appearing a bit(well, a lot like Jeanna) but! with redder stems and darker leaves and JUST DIFFERENT. I would "almost" say a bit more fragrant but I gotta see the Monarchs around it. Large heads, YES, of SMALL flowers, YES, but super tight. Just saw that ISSIMA says dark stems as well, that was my next observation! Darker stems, darker leaves, and darker flower color really! Just read a bit more, they, ISSIMA, say purple flushed foliage. Whomever Gary is, thanks! This is fantastic! NATIVE! Mildew FREE! None! Well, multiple stemmed! and well self-branched!
This is definitely a new introduction giving P.`Speed Limit' and P.`Jeanna' a TEST to what one you would choose. I say get one of each because they are all 3 uncomparable! They are super pollinators and nectar sources for all! Stock fro ISSIMA Plants 6/16/20. NATIVE! ISSIMA got theirs fro Cotswold Garden Flowers.
