Lavender
IMPORTANT CHEMISTRY: Commercial lavandin oil, distilled from the flowers, has 32% to 47% linalool, 17% to 42% linalyl acetate, and 6% to 12% 1,8-cineole. Lavadin oil is considered GRAS at 0.3 to 18 ppm. Lavender oil (Spike Oil) is considered as GRAS at 10-50 ppm with 20 ppm being the/a constant. The most common use of Spike Oil are as a pigment and FOR SCENTING SOAPS. Lavender oil is commonly used in AROMA-THERAPY, and inhalation of lavender vapors produces an anticonvulsive effect and REDUCES ANXIETY.
