Hemerocallis `Barnegat Light', orange and gold cascade with red eye and gold throat, 55", 7"flower, July-October!! HUGE flower, fragrant, winter dormant, diploid, unusual form. This won best seedling in the National Capital Daylily club flower show in 2003! The plant, scapes, foliage, and flowers are ALL HUGE! Wide, light blue-green foliage is winter dormant. Interestingly, the stamens and pistil are orange. The scapes are MASSIVE, with 2 to 3 branches and 27buds! During hurricane Isabel some scapes leaned but none fell! This is named after a great lighthouse(famous to lighthouse fanatics)on Long Beach Island, off the NJ coast that can be seen from a very long distance. As is with this daylily! This can be seen from across the baseball/football/soccer fields in the neighboring garden!(2004, Jim Murphy,(Benzinger seedling "BLB/OI" x H.`Nuclear Meltdown'))
