HAY SCENTED(Dennstaedtia punctilobula)

Dennstaedtia punctilobula, a medium size fern with long-creeping rhizomes and deciduous fronds(go dormant). This is a near indestructible fern. Grows well in all soils even in full sun. Although preferring low to high light and moister acidic conditions this is found often used as a groundcover in gardens. You can find this growing amongst rocks along the turnpike and at the same time under the woods along the road. When crushed the fronds emit an odor of freshly cut hay. The blades appear to come strait out of the ground, fine textured, and triangular in shape. Often a paler green as opposed to forest green. NATIVE to eastern United States. Super hardy to zone3
