Juncus effuses `Squiggly Wiggly', incredible SUPER dwarf "Spiral Rush". After searching "High-and-Low" I've determined we have the REAL THING!(stock). There's been a few winter that we've come close to losing it and a few seasons also but that is on us because we share(let some people buy one or two)our treasures! We acquired our stock 5 Oct, 2012 from Bromm's Lullaby Farm. I was "alerted" that there was a "super dwarf" out there from Don Herzog who used to have Mini Plant Kingdom, Sebastopol, CA until 27 Sep, 2012 when I found a label indicating `Squiggly Wiggly' in his shipment mini Hosta stock that year. My search was rewarded quickle when I went to some Nurseries that grew some "other" stuff. So, back to why?. The real J.`Squiggly Wiggly' doesn't get more than 10"long! AND the stems are bizarrely curly at times(most often). Everytime we "re-fresh" the stock they come back to life and get thick once again. They do like it wet, but WELL-DRAINED. If kept to wet thru the winter months a good chance you'll loose `Squiggly'. Opposite in summer. Let it dry out one or 2 times and he's "squiggled" away! The picture posted should be studied for "curls". There's a few that are like a "slinky"! How cool is that. But see in relation to the size pot. That's it! NO BIGGER! Thicker, yes! Maybe grown in 1 quart for the trade. Sun to shade. Best in a trough, container, that you can keep an eye for conditions. I wouldn't plant this out below zone6 and then I would protect from temps below 30 and panic when we get a week of snow!
