GOLD STANDARD

Hosta `Gold Standard', pale lavender, 22-36", July-August. MEDIUM to LARGISH. Mounds 22"high by 60"wide. Leaves 9"long by 6 1/4"wide of gold-centered with a 1/4" to 1/2"wide, dark green margin. Ovate-shaped. Average substance. Excellent growth rate. As the season progresses the center becomes rich gold and stands out from a distance. Another first for anyone thinking of a hosta or starting a hosta garden. This is so good and brilliant it to is most used as a landscape form, border, and/or massing groundcover. Found by Pauline Banyai in a shipment of plants from Walters Gardens, Inc. in the early 1970's.(1976 Pauline Banyai)
