BLUE MOUSE EARS(2008 HoY)

Hosta `Blue Mouse Ears', purplish-blue, 11", July. SMALL some think MINI. Thick blue leaves, quite rounded and egg-shaped(like a mouse's ear!). Mounds 8"high by 19"wide and can easily be kept smaller if needed or wanted. Leaves 2 5/8"long by 2 3/8"wide(you may think this ain't no mouse, this is a rat's ear!). Covered with a thick underside bloom also(underside of the leaf is white.If you were to rub your finger across it you can actually spell something. Like a chalkboard!). The flowers are extremely attractive also in dense clusters just above the mounds of leaves. From this original and still near #1 in ALL popularity polls for SMALL/DWARF comes many more "mouse ear" sports. Not many real hybrids, although they're using this as one of the "parents". Like trying to make a big FAT MOUSE! Overweight, obese, get where I'm going? But it's not catching on in the national fitness polls?! A must for every and any gardener, not just a hosta person or want-ana-be! Oh, by the way. They do have one already called/named H.`Fat Cat'!(2008 "Hosta of the year" by the American Hosta Growers Association, 1st time they selected a mini!)
