QUILTING BEE

Hosta `Quilting Bee', pale purple, 12-28", June-July. SMALL-medium sometimes. Mounds 9-12" high by 26-30" wide. Leaves 4 1/2" long by 3-4" wide(8-10vp); a small dense mound of SHINY dark green, corrugated in a fashion that the corrugation streaks along the veins creating the unusual puckered appearance of being "quilted"! Leaves are very ovate(nearly round) and lobed at the base with a distinct tip, slightly cupped but enough so that it's noticed! Adding to this incredible sewing if the "inflated" bell-shaped flowers that are more purple than lavender. (R.Ohara, 1999). Stock dates as far back to Plant Delights Nursery, Tony Avent 2000.
