PRETTY POSEY(OS!!)

Hosta `Pretty Posey', BRIGHT purple!, 18-24", August. MEDIUM often appearing SMALL. Mounds 12" high by 20" wide. Leaves 4" long by 2 1/2" wide(5vp); shiny, dark Bavaria-forest green, narrow, lance-shaped, moderately wavy, smooth-textured, thinnish substance. These comments from Mark Zilis in his Encyclopedia that to me describes the name and CRAZINESS of collecting! "This name falls in the category of "poetic license". I(Mark) think the intention was for "posey" to mean a bunch of flowers, WHICH THIS CULTIVAR CERTAINLY HAS. The word for a bunch of flowers, however, would be spelled "posy". "Posey" has an entirely different meaning in the English language." ENOUGH of the nitpicking, he goes on to say! If you are a GREENIE!
