Hosta `Paintbrush', pale purple, 20-39", July. MEDIUM. Mounds 17-19" high by 24-50" wide(all depends on where you site it!plant it), registration has the minimum and Mark Zilis's Encyclopedia has the maximum. Leaves 7-14" long by 5-7"wide(6-10vp), here again, the registration reflects the minimums while The Hosta Encyclopedia reflects REALITY! During the 2006 AHS Convention and while I spied on him in our DISPLAY Garden from A-Z he literally pulled out a ruler to measure the size of length and width of mounds and leaves! Heart-shaped leaves that are chartreuse in the center with a green margin IN SPRING! Most people(persons) see this specimen after May and think it's "just another green one". Well, YOU need to have it to appreciate it! LET ALONE UNDERSTAND the naming of a "paintbrush"! Leaves are wavy, slightly corrugated. Mark finds this nearly EXTINCT in the World let alone "market"(trade). Only found in COLLECTOR'S collections! My stock comes from Van Wade as a GIFT when I ordered lots of Originator Stock 27 July 2017!!
