MAYAN MOON

Hosta `Mayan Moon', pale lavender, 19-27", July-August. Medium-large. Mounds 18"high by 40"wide. Leaves 8"long 7"wide(10vp); green-centered, gold-yellow margin; broadly ovate-shaped; moderately corrugated; light underside bloom; slightly ripped. The margin is quite wide and blends into the center. When this first came to market it was exciting because `August Moon' was such a great performer. As with its parent, this to can take quite a bit of sun. This is the 1st sport of `August Moon' discovered by William(Bill) Mitchell right here in Chadd's Ford, PA. An old friend of my dad's. I was very young when we used to go there often to get field dug perennials. Bill never registered this but in 2009 the AHS registered it. (2009, K.Walek. Sport of `August Moon')
