gracillima(Hime Iwa Giboshi)

Hosta gracillima(Hime Iwa Giboshi), purple, 15", September-October. SMALL. Dense mounds 12"high by 31"wide with leaves 4 1/4"long by 1 7/8"wide(4-6vp); narrowly ovate, medium green, slightly wavy, rounded base and curved tip; slightly shiny on top; underside very shiny; petioles covered with reddish-purple dots; thin substance. Definitely for the "green collector" of sorts. The rippling and vein protrusion and wavy makes this pretty cool for a small green. The petioles also. Not all small green have this trait. Late bloom and purple flowers always catch the attention of passerbyers (Fumio Maekawa, 1940!)
