SEA LIGHTNING

Hosta `Sea Lightning', pale purple, 36", July-August. MEDIUM. Mounds 16" high by 33"wide of streaked foliage(a prime specimen). Leaves 8" long by 4 1/2" wide(9vp); dark green with yellow and creamy white streaks THROUGHOUT the leaf. The leaf shape is elliptic to ovate-shaped, slightly wavy, moderately corrugated, and average substance. Now here's the "thing". This could, will, may have the tendency to revert to one called ~Sea Thunder' where the center is white and a green margin, NO STREAKING! Then, you have lost your prime specimen and the TRUE `Sea Lightning'! Keep an eye for some that may have "lopsided" leaves of variegation. Half the leaf white, big streaks that will lead to bigger streaks(white center?). We've had a very few, 2-5, send out just an eye of off-foliage.
