Hosta `Subcrocea', purple, 22", August. SMALL sometimes smaller. Low dense mound of wavy, gold foliage; mound size 14"high(that's one on "hosta juice")by 29"wide(more "hosta juice"!)with leaves 6 1/4"long by 1 3/4"wide(this part is a standout in its class with the wavy edge and fairly bright gold coloring)(4vp). Leaf blade narrowly elliptic to lance-shaped, smooth-textured; thin substance. An H.sieboldii seedling. Good growth rate. A good one for small edging and borders. great for troughs and containers. A little more light the brighter the leaves. (1987, AHS)
