PLUG NICKEL

Hosta `Plug Nickel', purple, 10-12", July. MINI. Tissue culture sport of `Cracker Crumbs'. Shiny, dark green foliage 3-4"high by 18"wide. Leaves 2"long by 1.5"wide(4-5vp). The naming of this, not to mention the actual registration and putting out in the trade, show you how a hosta "nut" becomes a "hex-nut"! If Bob named this for the moniker "Plug Nickel" then he was right! But, noooo. We go and buy it just because it says it not worth anything? For whatever reason this pure green mini is the first to run low on stock every year!(2003,R.Solberg). He actually brought this to the spring Tri-State Hosta Society sale in 2006. AND I BOUGHT ONE!
