CHERRY BERRY

Hosta `Cherry Berry, light purple, 24-30", July-August. MEDIUM on the smaller side but pronounced in the garden!. Mounds 12"high by 28"wide. Leaves 6.5"long by 2-3"wide.(6-7vp).White centered, green-margined foliage but not simple! The center streaks into the margin for one thing. The leaves have a unique elliptic-shape, smooth with average substance. Bright red scapes bring this cherry to the serving of "cherries jubilee"! A favorite of many and usually found in any display garden. For the personal hosta nut it will either grow for you or give you a hard time(usually until you give it its own medicine and grow it in a pot). if you do get it to its 28"spread put a small mote of beer around it so the slugs have to "knee-hop" around it.(1991,William & Eleanor Lachman)Stock from Obrien's Nursery, 2004 convention.
