HUMPBACK WHALE

Hosta `Humpback Whale', near-white, 37", July-August. HUGE! Mounds 28" high by 70"wide. Leaves 17"+long! by 13"+wide!. Heavy, chalky blue leaves have what appears like a "hump" in the mid-leaf! Broadly ovate, heavily corrugated, and thick substance. Moderately wavy. During the 2006 American Hosta Society auction(which was held in Valley Forge, PA and RGW hosted the now infamous PIG ROAST) a single plant of `Humpbacked Whale' sold for a then record-setting $3700.00!!! At the time its rarity (only 2 pieces existed, the one sold and one left in Charlie Seaver's garden)made for the spirited bidding!
