FIRST FROST(2010 HOY)

Pale lavender, 24-30", July-August. 2010 American Hosta Growers "Hosta of the Year".A sport of H.`Halcyon'from the tissue culture lab of Patricia Scolnik(Breeze Hill Plant Lab, Chapel Hill, NC).This one differs from `El Nino' in that it's leaf is more green-blue and the margin is creamy-yellow instead of white.These leaves persist until the first "killing" frost also!Mounds are 14"high by 36"wide.Leaves 7"long by 5"wide,blue-green in the center with a yellow margin in spring and changing to dark green and white margin by frost.Thick substance.(2002 P.Scolnik,R.Solberg)(2010 "Hosta of the Year" by the American Hosta Growers Association)
