LADY(Athyrium felix-femina)

Athyrium filix-femina, a medium-large fern with short-creeping to erect, clump-forming rhizomes and deciduous(dormant)fronds. Prefers low or high shade and moister conditions. Seemingly long lance fronds, 18-28". Fine tectured. Ribs can be variable in color sometimes even appearing red(A.`Lady in Red'). Although originating in Europe it has become so widely spread and adopted to North America it is often considered NATIVE. When the fronds are rubbed they emit a slight fragrance. Very hardy to zone3
