JAPANESE PAINTED(Athyrium niponicum)

Athyrium niponicum `Pictum', medium to low mounding fern. Patching mounds to 3 feet wide. Triangular fronds with reddish and gray-silver colors. Very attractive and accentuating. Can be used in container gardening. Grows best in shady, moist conditions. Grows well with half a day of sun. Used often under trees as they have a short root system. Always in hosta gardens. Goes dormant.Native to China and Japan and very hardy. zone3
