Sanguisorbia tenuifolia, purple-red-maroon, 54-70", June-August. Towering perennial burnett! Mesmerizing in size, height, and especially in bloom with tight baby corn-like flowers with a droop to them! Mounds 4-6ft wide of scalloped, serrated, oblong leaves. Probably the most ornamental giant I've come across. We finally dug some of our clump on a hill to see what it does in a pot and see if we have any "Takers"! Many are astonished with it when it blooms but I must admit when questioned if they would like a piece are quick to say, "I have no where to put that thing, it's huge!". Oh well! Sun, any soil.
