aureus.Yellow, 12-24", May-June. Dandelion-like flowers in mass above leafy?,they are leaves but yea, they're leafy, lots of them. This is one plant that doen't care what you do now or later! It comes up in spring with purple buds that explode(literally, it self seeds freely)in daisy yellow flowers. Heart-shaped, blunt toothed leaves are basal and, well, leafy. Part-shade and moist soils suit it well but will probably grow anywhere you put it. Native to Eastern and Central United States in meadows, swamps from Quebec to North Dakota, south to Arkansas and east to Florida.z3-8 "Golden Ragwort, Squaw-weed"
