g.ssp.evansiana NANJIANG SILVER

Begonia grandis ssp. holostyla `Nanjiang Silver', pink, 22", August-October. Silver cast to the leaves with silver markings(spots and dots). The silver marking are less pronounced later in the season. Discovered in Sichuan, China by Dave Demers of Cyan Horticulture and named and made available by Seattle Horticulturist Riz Reyes. Generously silver-splashed leaves on young seedlings especially. Plant this more in the shade. It doesn't like the sun very much causing leaf burn around the edges and begins to fade away if too hot, although it will drop its bulbils to arise again(a year later). zone6 at least.
