SOUTHERNWOOD COLA PLANT

Artimesia abrotanum var.maritima `Cola Plant', yellow, 48", August-September. The leaves have the flavor and smell of cola, like the soda. Use the young shoots/tips both fresh or dried to flavor sauces, roasting meats, salads, teas, desserts. The lower part of the stems are quite bitter so use the 1st couple inches of new shoots. Grows in nearly any soils and conditions! Found in meadows and open fields most often. zone5-9 "Old Woman", "Sweet Annie"
