MACHO MINT

Mentha spicata `Macho Mint'. EXTRA tasty!, extra tough, and extra abundant! Originally from the garden of Jim Long, Long Creek Herbs and we are getting a piece(pot) from Mountain Valley Growers. It's a big herbal community when it comes to "cool" selections that work! This mint further gets its namesake from thriving past the first several touches of frost! and in return still the FIRST to emerge in spring! Sun, zone5 "Macho Mint". Extra tough, EXTRA TASTY, and extra abundant! Here's Jim Long's "Macho Mint" tea recipe as transcribed by Mountain Valley Growers: harvest a handful, COPIOUS (generous)! amount of stems, leaves and all! Wad it up and squeeze it a bit like you would squeeze a dishcloth. Pu t that wadded-up, SQUEEZED MINT BALL in the bottom of a half-gallon pitcher. Fill the pitcher to the top WITH ICE! (Ice Tea!), then fill the pitcher with water. Let it sit for a mere 5 minutes and you will have the BEST Macho ICED TEA you will ever experience! And so the story goes!
