CHIVES

The most delicate member of the onion family, the perennial bulb has green tubular leaves reaching 6-12". Pink or lavender globular blossoms in June. The graceful leaves and blossoms have a mild onion flavor, especially when fresh. Use the chopped leaves in salads, soups, vegetables, omelettes, and other dishes and toss the flowers in salads or use them as garnish. Full sun with rich, well-drained soil.
