Solidago shortii `Solar Cascade', golden-yellow,24-30", August-October. This selection exhibits a "cascading" habit(really?and maybe the Solar power comes from the color, yellow?). So, let's put 'em together and spell the name "Solar Cascade"?(Not sure if this is the origin of the name but I'm giving it a try)The species, shortii, is a federally endangered species though. Native to sporadic parts of Indiana and Kentucky. Hummingbirds, butterflies. Extremely drought tolerant. The UV effects of this Native do best in moist to average garden soil and set out to tan in the full sun or partially shaded by the hammock.(Sun to part-shade).zone3-8 "Shorty's Goldenrod"
