Leaves are bright green, oval, and leathery. Blooms heavy in spring to early summer then intermittently until frost. Sun to part shade in more moist than dry soils. In its habitat this is found in open woodlands, woods edges. Virginia to Georgia. This phlox can self-sow but is not aggressive.
