Pink, 12-18", May-June. Lightly hairy stems and leaves make this one easily recognized. Narrow leaves. Wiry tems often start out upright but with the weight of the flowers lean over then creating a cloud-like mound of color.They prefer sun but tolerate part-shade. Once established they can form excellent patches since they are stoloniferous.Found in prairies and woodland from Connecticut to Manitoba souht to Texas and east to Florida.z3-8 "Downy Phlox, Hairy Phlox"
