pinifolious MELON

Penstemon pinifolious `Melon', melon-orange/pink, 12-15", July-August. Needle leaves form airy clumps to 20"wide. Tubular-shaped flowers invite hummingbirds to nectar their noses! If you have the NATIVE basic red form then you can go from there in coloring! This `Melon" shade falls in between the yellow(P.Mersea Yellow) and the P.pinifolious(red) therefore making it, actually, like a "peach" color? Melon is good. It's a lighter orange(not red)with hints of yellow. Maybe this is why the hummingbirds like, or seems so, more than the other colors? The nectar is more "melone sweet". NATIVE.
