Opuntia humifusa `Major', yellow, 10-15", June. Large pads up to 10" long and sometimes as wide! Not for the faint at heart! Mats/clumps up to 10ft across! This will hang down a wall for 6ft as well! Or sprawl over rocks to that magnitude in width! Golden central spines make a good show if you're out at night with a black-light! This can tolerate more shade than others. Most humifus'a can. These are also NATIVE more to our Eastern shores! Can tolerate more water as well. Sun, part-shade, still fairly well-drained. zone3 "Elephant Ear Prickly Pear"
