BAY LEAF(2009 of year)

Evergreen, tender, perennial shrub grows up to 60ft where native, but reaching 6ft in pots. Inconspicuous yellowish flowers in the spring, very rare when in pots. Use leaves for flavor in stews and soups, and as an aromatic addition to potpourris and herbal wreaths. Full sun to partial shade, rich, well-drained soil. Can tolerate cold but not freezing temperatures. Prune to maintain size.
